In a moment of global crisis creative people and designers around the world turned to look after their own identity, even in a world of accessories and jewellery. In a way of a new artistic casting in a quest for his various I-D’s Italian born but based in Spain designer Antonio Ben Chimol presents his new design – badge called Patriot. Designed from recycled leather and metal in his artistic studio based in Barcelona, badge named Patriot gives an opportunity of each of Antonio’s crew people chance to explore and create his or her own version of Patriot. Then, so called identity mission which started as a common intuiton quest turned to be a big and beautiful feast – of colours, characters and histories hidden behind the concept. “Each Patriot turns into the flag of each of my stuff, they freely assemble each piece by selecting its colours, cutting out shapes and choosing under their own criteria the chromatic composition between the gold, silver and titanium of the claps and leather stripes.”, says the designer himself.
Free spirit of the whole project continues in a free option designer gives you to choose your own indivitual place for The Patriot – it goes well on your purse, hat, boots even gloves. “And regarding its name, I wanted to name them Patriot so there isn’t only missiles called like that in the world!”, epxlains his idea Antonio Ben Chimol from his Barcelona studio. He posed himself as his favorite childhood character Corto Maltese – famous sailor and cartoon hero from Hugo Pratt’s collection stories. Mystical and brave as 007 Corto discovered that he had no fate line on his palm and therefore carved his own with a razor, determining that his fate was his to choose.
